A drum that stalls, water pooling underneath, or a machine rattling loudly on every spin, one worn part is usually the culprit.

Spin Never Actually Begins
Everything runs fine right up to spin, then nothing. Most often the lid or door switch stopped reporting a secure close. Board holds off as a precaution. Could be dead, could just be misaligned. A live test settles it.
A Wet Patch Keeps Showing Up
Check where the water actually appears. Front-loaders, look at the rubber boot first, it splits with age. Top-loaders point more toward a loose connection or a seal that's simply aged out.
Tub Stays Bone Dry
Start it and hear nothing, or worse, a cycle running with no water at all. Scale-clogged valve is common. A bent hose behind the machine does the same thing for cheaper. Check both taps first.
Cabinet Rocks Hard At Spin
Hits full speed and the whole thing lurches. Springs or shocks wearing unevenly can't control the drum anymore. Replace them as a set, not one at a time.
One Heavy Thud Every Turn
Getting louder by the week. Usually a bearing failing inside the drum. Bigger job than most, worth confirming by ear before quoting.
Halts With No Warning
Cuts off mid-cycle, shows something unfamiliar, sometimes locks the door. A bad water-level sensor is a common cause. Cheap fix compared to a new board.

Spread out an unbalanced load
One bulky item can throw off the whole spin. Add a towel or rearrange it.
Confirm both taps are open
Half-closed valve looks exactly like a fill problem.
Check the drain hose route
Look for a sharp bend or pinch along the way.
Push the door until it clicks
Most units won't start without a solid latch.
Don't overload the drum
Too much can trip a sensor and stop things early.
Check it's sitting level
Even a minor lean makes the whole cabinet vibrate noticeably.
