A Pool Left Every Time
Cycle ends, water's still sitting there. Broken glass jamming the drain pump is common. Pinched hose does the same, cheaper fix. Check the pump first.
A Film On Everything
New detergent doesn't help. Clogged spray nozzles are usually why, not enough pressure to rinse. Dirty filter makes it worse.
Nothing Happens At All
No light, no sound. Most units won't run unless the door latch confirms closed. Check the alignment before assuming a dead board.
A Grind Mid-Cycle
Loud enough from another room. Usually something tiny jammed the chopper near the pump. The motor almost never turns out to be the actual problem.
Water Sneaks Out The Door
Looks shut, leaks anyway. Rubber stiffens with age and won't seal evenly. Check the full ring, not just one spot.
Clean But Still Wet
Heated dry on, still damp. Dead element or stalled fan usually explains it. Sometimes just the rinse aid dispenser.

Close the door fully
Most units won't run unless it reads shut.
Run the tap hot first
Gives the dishwasher a head start heating.
Check the breaker panel
Confirm the circuit hasn't tripped.
